Our Story
How a home recording project became Intentional Studios — and, more recently, Intentional Duo.
It started with an album. My wife, Joyce, wrote a set of songs and recorded them in Branson, Missouri, working with studio musicians to bring them to life. That process taught us something we didn't expect: making the music we wanted to make meant we needed a studio of our own — one where the clock wasn't running out on us before the song was finished.
So we built one. Our son Brian and his friends from Youth at Church helped bring it to life — pitching in to record the very first sessions, which captured the first songs Joyce had ever written. Those early sessions were a real success, and they taught us as much as we taught them.

In time, those same kids grew up — got married, started families of their own, and moved on to the next chapters of their lives, the way it should be. The studio went quiet for a season.
Now, Brandon and Joyce are picking the story back up as Intentional Duo — Joyce singing the songs she writes, Brandon behind the tech and production. Same studio, same mission: Christian music made with the freedom to actually finish it right.
This studio carries a piece of Gail Bartolomei with it — she believed in what we were building from the very beginning, and designed the original logo that ours still carries forward today. We miss her, and we're grateful.
